Knee Deep Wines is located in the heart of Margaret River’s premium wine-growing area and was established from farmlands by Dr Philip Childs in 2000.

‘Knee Deep’ refers to several factors. Firstly, it reflects a passionate commitment to the premium winemaking process.

Secondly, it refers, tongue-in-cheek, to the fact that the winery was established at a time when there was a glut of grapes and is a wry smile to the testing conditions in which it was born.

The name also refers to the laid back Margaret River state of mind in which visitors often find it too easy to immerse themselves.

Our wines are made from a range of varietals and offer something for everyone from the deckchair wine drinker to the panel tasting connoisseur!

Former New Zealand Junior Chef of the Nation, and Chaine de Rotisseurs World Finalist Bradley Hornby, has joined us with years of experience in high quality restaurants and 5 star luxury resorts such as Huka Lodge, InterContinental Wellington and Lizard Island Resort.

Having also worked in 5 star luxury resorts and hotels, Liz Buttimore is a Certified Sommelier with the UK Court of Masters, and has achieved gold and silver medals for her restaurant service in New Zealand.

The restaurant offers an a la carte lunch menu seven days a week. We welcome families with children and offer a special kids menu.
