Pier Nine is a Brisbane icon and not just a seafood restaurant – it is a unique dining experience. Australia’s most awarded seafood restaurant has spectacular views of the Brisbane River and is easily accessible from all major city hotels. Located on the Eagle Street Pier at ground level overlooking the river, the complex has undercover parking with taxis, buses and ferries virtually at the doorstep. You can also access Pier Nine by a scenic river walk which stretches from the Botanic Gardens past Pier Nine to Admiralty Towers and New Farm.
An award winning seafood restaurant with wide ranging influences, Pier Nine’s menu changes seasonally to reflect the best there is to offer from Queensland and Australian produce. Executive Chef, Michael Wood has been at Pier Nine since day one, and with owner Matthew Hill-Smith, they have written a cook book – “the first fifteen” highlighting favourite recipes from Pier Nine’s first fifteen years.
The wine list is extensive and has a wide selection of wines by the glass (having a 5th generation wine maker as the owner is a distinct advantage!)
Open for lunch from 11.30am Sunday to Friday and every night for dinner, Pier Nine’s kitchen does not close until last orders at 10.00pm – great for a long lunch or an early dinner. Choose to dine inside or outside (in all weather), you can also be seated at our “Glass Bar” to dine, or simply have a glass of wine and some freshly shucked oysters. Alternatively come to our Tank Bar where you have a wide range of beers, wines by the glass and bar meals.
Pier Nine has won many varied awards – Queensland Tourism Award, American Express Best Seafood Restaurant Award (3 years in a row), American Express Hall of Fame, National Restaurant & Caterers Award for Excellence in Training, Oyster Growers Gold Award (twice), Queensland Seafood Festival Best Seafood Restaurant (two years in a row) as well as being awarded 3 stars by Gourmet Traveller for 4 years in a row.
